It’s been very quiet here on In the Making. 2014 was all about photography and my 52 postcards project. I knew for the early part of 2015 I would take a photography break for a month or two. The month or two has turned into eight months now. Photography has been my creative outlet for years, but this year I’ve been re-discovering sewing and needlecraft as ways to channel my creativity. After starting with a few simple cushion covers and bags, I’ve recently moved on to dressmaking (something I haven’t done since I was 13!).

Here are a few images of my first substantial make – Vogue Pattern 1246. It took me quite a while and there are some things I’d like to improve on, but overall I’m pleased with the outcome.
