For those of you kind enough to follow this blog and my images, you may have noticed that there are very, very few photographs of people. There are a couple of good reasons for this. The first is I hate (with a passion) having my own photograph taken, I always have since a child. This leads to my second reason, that if  I hate it, why should I intrude into someone else’s personal space by thrusting a camera in their face?

However, I’m enjoying the creative possibilities photography is opening up. So today I decided to overcome my shyness for portraiture and candid street photography and went to Brighton for the 2009 Pride parade. What better place or event to get out the camera and give it a go.
